P2P

File sharing is an activity and ability to transmit a file from one user to another over a network or the Internet. Simply it’s sharing information or data online, it could be what we send through emails, posting using smartphones, and sharing photos. In daily life people share a file without noticing, people have to send the word or excel document during work by email or could be sharing within cloud like Google Drive. In school students share and submit files of assignment easily through Blackboard without printing it out.

P2P file sharing stans for “Peer to Peer”. In a P2P network, peers are connected with the internet and share files directly between systems on the network without a central server. I would say the key difference between P2P and file sharing is if there restriction of central server or country. Even if I share something illegal like illegal music files or movies according to the federal law it’s illegal yet since I’m sharing with peers there isn’t any problem with it. According to the Article “The BitTorrent Effect”, the BitTorrent is the most well made and use peer to peer program. It allows users to be interconnected, within the program users quickly upload and download an an an enormous amount of data. Yet, I am also a user of BitTorrent it can be used in bad ways. For example, people upload illegal movies, music and with that file, they also put in viruses. So people who download get infected

There are many examples of P2P file sharing like Skype which allow peers to get connected and call facetime, or messenger apps. Also, the virtual coins like bitcoins are also P2P that share money value coins between users. The google drive is made to interconnect between users and easily and lively share their files. In many way, P2P is being used and make our life easier and quicker.
